Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical garden are located next to each other and are in the East of Nagoya.
A pleasant day out with a lot to see, whether your interest lies in the animals or the gardens.
The zoo has a sky train that rides around the park as well as the Hiashiyama sky tower which for a fee you can climb up to see the sweeping views of the park and Nagoya.
Something also worth seeing is the Autumn leaves night lights show, where there is a large section of maple trees beautifully lit up at night. It does get very crowded though!
To get to the zoo and gardens use the Higashiyana subway line to Higashiyamakoen station.
