Yokiso has a collection of Gardens too, the north garden is particularly impressive with inspirations from Kyoto seen in its Fushimi Inari style shrine and Hakuun bridge. This garden also houses Bangaro, a western-style building developed in 1929 with various ornaments and arts from around the world.
The south garden is a natural style rock garden and is only open to the public on selected days with a tour but has only been open to the public for a short time as it used to be off-limits like some of the other areas of Yokiso.
When one steps into this estate you have to imagine a time where the modern buildings around didn’t exist to appreciate its real elegance.
If you are interested in unique and obscure history then Yokiso is sure to immerse you into its fascinating past.
Yokiso is a 5-minute walk from Kakuozan on the Higashiyama line.
